The LORD says, \u201cI will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.\u201d Psalm 32:8 (NLT)<\/i><\/p>\n
Making a living from writing is hard. I haven\u2019t earned anything in a month. My situation made me think about the story of Jesus and Simon Peter.<\/p>\n
Jesus said to Simon, \u201cNow go out where it is deeper, and let down your nets to catch some fish\u201d (Luke 5:4, NLT).<\/p>\n
For a while, I\u2019d considered closing my business, but I cried out to Jesus one more time. Is it really time to give up? Lord, what\u2019s Your will?<\/i> Then I came across a Bible verse, and I felt a tug in my heart. \u201cLet the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands!\u201d (Psalm 90:17, ESV). Establish. Establish. Establish.<\/i> The word kept echoing in my mind. Do You want me to continue?<\/i><\/p>\n
\u201c\u2018Master,\u2019 Simon replied, \u2018we worked hard all last night and didn\u2019t catch a thing.\u2019\u201d (In spite of an empty catch, Simon yielded to Jesus.) \u201c\u2018But if you say so, I\u2019ll let the nets down again.\u2019 And this time their nets were so full of fish they began to tear!\u201d (Luke 5:5\u20136, NLT).<\/p>\n
Like Simon Peter, I didn\u2019t know what the outcome would be but I followed Jesus\u2019s instruction and did what He asked me to do regarding my business. The next day, I received a contract\u2014the biggest one yet. Jesus overwhelmed me with a huge blessing!<\/p>\n
When we yield our lives to Jesus, we never know what the outcome will be, but He always comes through for us. When we believe and obey Jesus, in spite of unfavorable circumstances, we receive the tremendous blessings He\u2019s already prepared for us. <\/p>\n
