\u201cFor the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.\u201d Luke 19:10 (TNIV)<\/em><\/p>\n

There\u2019s a word in that verse that I usually skip over\u2014the word “seek”. I know about how Jesus came to save all of us. And I know that I was lost before I came to know Jesus. What I don\u2019t always remember is that Jesus sought me.<\/p>\n

There were numerous people in my life who slowly, carefully nudged me toward God. I may not have even been aware of what they were doing or how they influenced me. What I do know is the end result\u2014my life given to Jesus, gladly and joyfully, and the rest of my life spent following Him.<\/p>\n

But what about other people Jesus is seeking? I\u2019m grateful to the people who helped me come to Christ, but what am I doing to be one of those people to someone else, someone lost?<\/p>\n

Am I just sitting in my pew at church, content with my life, and not making the effort to seek out other people? If Jesus actively sought people, including myself, then shouldn\u2019t I also be actively seeking people?<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not the one doing the saving, obviously\u2014that\u2019s Jesus\u2019 job\u2014but I can be doing the legwork to seek out people, to make myself available for Jesus to use. He may want me to just smile at someone at the grocery store, or help a harried mom pick up some dropped toys, or respond with kindness when someone spews malice at me. Or He may want me to say something, whether to a stranger or a friend, that will help nudge that person closer to Him. Whatever it is, I need to be looking for these opportunities, looking for these people.<\/p>\n

Faith Step: Keep your eyes open today to seek people whom Jesus can touch through you. Be willing to be right there when He wants to use you.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
