One night as I read Psalm 103:8\u201310, I seemed to hear God say, \u201cThis is the way <em>I <\/em>deal with those who let <em>Me <\/em>down.\u201d The Lord is compassionate and gracious\u2026.How often do I show mercy, compassion, clemency\u2014to my children? My spouse? My friends or coworkers?<\/p>\n<p><em>Slow to anger and abounding in mercy<\/em>\u2026.\u201cAbounding\u201d means \u201cfilled to the very brim with.\u201d Can I be filled with enough love to give up my own quick temper and respond to others with steadfast, \u201cnever-failing\u201d love?<\/p>\n<p><em>He will not always accuse<\/em>\u2026.God is no nag\u2026.<em>Nor will He<\/em><em> harbor His anger forever<\/em>. God holds no grudges. Can I give up my own nagging and grudges?<\/p>\n<p><em>He does not treat us as our sins deserve<\/em>&#8230;.Can I learn to be gentle in dealing with the faults of others? Can I overlook their flaws? God\u2019s way of dealing with people who disappoint Him is not my most natural way. It\u2019s harder. But it\u2019s also a far better way.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRAY: <\/strong><em>Father, please forgive my slowness to forgive, my tendency to think I have a right to hold a grudge because someone deserves it.
