On January 2, I\u2019d typed out last year\u2019s goals: \u201cLost the weight, but <a href=\"https:\/\/gpbookstore.org\/articles\/positive-living\/health-and-wellness\/exercise\/10-motivational-quotes-for-weight-loss\/\">gained a few pounds<\/a> back over the holidays. Removed clutter from my home, but still have more to do. Speak <a href=\"https:\/\/gpbookstore.org\/articles\/positive-living\/health-and-wellness\/better-living\/emotional-and-mental-health\/3-simple-words-to-brighten-your-day\/\">encouraging words of love and kindness<\/a>; still falling short.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019d had the \u201ckind words goal\u201d on my list since 2010. I\u2019d even taped \u201cPleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul (Proverbs 16:24)\u201d to my computer monitor as a reminder. But I was deeply dissatisfied by the lack of headway I\u2019d made.<\/p>\n<p>I ripped open the package. Inside was a book, <em>Silver Boxes: The Gift of Encouragement<\/em> by Florence Littauer. \u201cThink of your <a href=\"https:\/\/gpbookstore.org\/articles\/angels-and-miracles\/angels\/the-power-of-a-few-kind-words\/\">words as gifts to others<\/a> wrapped up as little silver boxes,\u201d Wanda had written.<\/p>\n<p>Deeper inside was another package: a small silver box on a chain. <em>Perfect!<\/em> I could wear it around my neck as a tangible reminder <a href=\"https:\/\/gpbookstore.org\/articles\/angels-and-miracles\/a-miraculous-tale-of-unexpected-true-love\/\">to speak love<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I picked up the telephone to <a href=\"https:\/\/gpbookstore.org\/articles\/positive-living\/friends-and-family\/love-thy-neighbor-and-the-habit-of-friendship\/\">thank my sweet friend<\/a>. \u201cDid you look inside the necklace?\u201d asked Wanda.<\/p>\n<p>I pulled back the tiny clasp and a scroll fell out. It was the verse from Proverbs 16:24.<\/p>\n<p>Now I was sure of it!
