How are our daily habits connected to our spiritual well-being? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Everything boils down to <a href=\"https:\/\/gpbookstore.org\/articles\/positive-living\/health-and-wellness\/life-advice\/how-to-cultivate-positive-habits-that-last\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">habits<\/a>. Our lives are this jumble of habits: conscious and subconscious, good and bad. Over time, those habits end up being who you become. Our habits help us persevere through obstacles and stay focused on our God-given assignments.<\/p>\n<p>I like to focus on the following: Flip the script\u2014<a href=\"https:\/\/gpbookstore.org\/articles\/positive-living\/health-and-wellness\/life-advice\/how-to-leave-your-past-in-the-past\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bury your past<\/a> and change your signature story. Kiss the wave\u2014the obstacle is not the enemy but the way. Eat the frog\u2014the one thing you like to do least is what you feel best about afterward. Fly the kite\u2014how you do anything is how you do everything. Cut the rope\u2014take the right risks to chart a new course. Wind the clock\u2014time is measured in minutes, but life is measured in <a href=\"https:\/\/gpbookstore.org\/articles\/prayer\/prayers-for-stronger-faith\/how-to-appreciate-simple-moments-of-grace\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">moments<\/a>. Seed the clouds\u2014sow today what you want to see tomor\u00adrow.<\/p>\n<p>Give these actions enough days in a row and they have the power to change your physical, mental and <a href=\"https:\/\/gpbookstore.org\/articles\/prayer\/bible-resources\/deepen-your-faith\/getting-and-staying-spiritually-fit\/\">spiritual health<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. What\u2019s powerful about prayer? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Prayer is the difference be\u00adtween the best we can do and the best God can do. It\u2019s the difference between letting things happen and making things happen. It\u2019s the way we write history before it happens. I think you\u2019ve got to pray as if it all depends on God and work as if it all depends on you. <a href=\"https:\/\/gpbookstore.org\/articles\/prayer\/true-stories-of-answered-prayer\/what-prayer-can-do-joy-in-the-journey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prayer<\/a> is the catalyst at the beginning of a journey.<\/p>\n<p>A bold prayer is praying a prayer you\u2019ve prayed a hundred times that hasn\u2019t been answered yet but one you feel as if you need to keep praying and believing. It\u2019s hard not to give up on things that you\u2019ve prayed for that haven\u2019t been answered in the way you want. That\u2019s where I think you have to acknowledge it\u2019s not about outlining our agenda to God but about God outlining his agenda to us. Someday we will thank God for the <a href=\"https:\/\/gpbookstore.org\/articles\/prayer\/true-stories-of-answered-prayer\/how-unanswered-prayers-draw-us-closer-to-god\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">prayers he didn\u2019t answer<\/a> maybe as much as the ones that he did.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Why is it important to learn to forgive? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A nail in my tire creates a slow leak; if I don\u2019t deal with it, I\u2019m eventually going to end up with a flat tire. I think unforgiveness is a slow leak in our soul, on our spirit. When we have a hard time <a href=\"https:\/\/gpbookstore.org\/articles\/positive-living\/forgive-like-god-forgives\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">forgiving<\/a> someone, it really doesn\u2019t hurt that person. It ultimately causes the greatest damage to us.<\/p>\n<p>I have a Deuteronomy 29:29 file folder, named for the verse that says the revealed things belong to us, the secret things belong to God. It means there is not going to be a solution to every problem. There\u2019s not going to be an answer to every question. There\u2019s not going to be <a href=\"https:\/\/gpbookstore.org\/articles\/positive-living\/friends-and-family\/family\/family-problems\/recovery-and-reconciliation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reconciliation<\/a> to every breach that all of us are prone to.<\/p>\n<p>When I experience things that feel unforgivable, all I can do is put it in that file and trust God in the process. In years to come, I\u2019ll have some revelations about what I put in that folder.
