Every so often I get a message on the Mysterious Ways<\/em> Facebook page<\/a> from a gray tabby cat. No, really!<\/p>\n

You see, Dana Apple<\/a>, a frequent Mysterious Ways<\/em><\/a> contributor, has a cat named Seth. He happens to be a big Mysterious Ways<\/em> fan.<\/p>\n

Dana sends me photos of Seth along with messages from him in distinct \u201ccat English.\u201d It always makes me smile.<\/p>\n

Seth has quite the personality. He\u2019s a stray who showed up at Dana\u2019s house about two and a half years ago. According to Dana, Seth doesn\u2019t get along with her other cats, except for one\u2013Layla, who mistook Seth for her mother when they first met. <\/p>\n

About a week ago, I was at my desk at work, really stressed. My sisters and I are currently on the hunt for a new apartment, and it\u2019s been a nightmare times ten. May is one of the worst times to look for an apartment in New York City\u2013not enough apartments, too many people looking. Our lease ends in two weeks, and we still have no place to call home. Needless to say, we\u2019re all on edge. So much so that the three of us have been arguing like cats and dogs!<\/p>\n

I was feeling pretty blue about all of it, especially the fighting. And then a message popped up on the Mysterious Ways<\/em> Facebook page. From Seth. It was a photo of him and Layla with this message:<\/p>\n

\u201cI do not know why, but I need to tell you – sometime sisters are kind of a little pain, but you just have to take it becase they love you. Hav a grate weekend. Seth\u201d [sic]<\/p>\n

I couldn\u2019t believe it! How on earth had \u201cSeth\u201d known? I emailed Dana and asked her that very question. She said she\u2019d recently posted the photo to her Facebook page and simply decided to send it to me. \u201cI thought you\u2019d like it,\u201d she wrote in her email, \u201cbut as [Seth] said, \u2018I don\u2019t know why, but\u2026\u2019 Trust and follow the urge. So very glad it was timely!\u201d<\/p>\n

Talk about \u201cmysterious ways\u201d! I texted Seth\u2019s photo and message to my sisters right away.<\/p>\n

Are we sometimes a pain to one another? Yes. But we love each other, and we\u2019ll get through the horrors of apartment hunting. That\u2019s the message I received loud and clear from a cat named Seth!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
