Her popular \u201cDad Braiding 101\u201d classes flip the notion that dads can\u2019t help their daughter\u2019s fix their hair on its head.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMothers usually braid or create their daughters\u2019 hair,\u201d Friedman <a href=\"http:\/\/www.today.com\/style\/dad-braiding-101-class-teaches-dads-how-braid-hair-t45686\">tells TODAY<\/a>. \u201cSo for a dad and daughter to come together on something and feel really good about it is amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The class not only teaches men how to wrangle their little girls\u2019 manes, it also provides a special time for dads to connect with their daughters.<\/p>\n<p>Braiding student Craig Axelrod is a father of three girls and says the class has helped him get to know his children better.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I saw we had the opportunity to take this class, spend time together, and learn, it\u2019s a win-win for me,&#8221; he tells TODAY.<\/p>\n<p>Dads learn basic braiding techniques as well as how to distract kids while they\u2019re fixing their hair. Some of the men even get competitive with one another, wanting to perfect their techniques, but at the end of the day, everyone walks away happy.
