Find out if yours does and get stitchin\u2019!<\/p>\n<table border=\"0\" cellpadding=\"1\" cellspacing=\"1\" style=\"height:550px; width:600px\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-16218\" alt=\"Turban pattern, diagram 1\" height=\"254\" src=\"https:\/\/gpbookstore.org\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/turbandiagram1.jpg\" style=\"float:left\" width=\"309\" \/><\/td>\n<td> <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<ol>\n<li>Cut one piece of knit fabric 24\u2033 x 13\u2033 with the stretch on the 24\u2033 length.<\/li>\n<li>Cut one 4\u2033 x 13\u2033 strip from the first piece. This will become the tab for the front of the turban. (See diagram 1)<\/li>\n<li>Fold the remaining 20\u2033 x 13\u2033 piece of fabric in half to 10\u2033 x 13\u2033.<\/li>\n<li>Machine stitch seam by rounding seam to form a crown, leaving a 1\u2033 opening for inserting tab. (See diagram 2)<\/li>\n<li>Form a 2\u2033 hem and stitch in place with zigzag stitch.<\/li>\n<li>Use double thread in needle. With even basting stitches (about a quarter inch in length), stitch on both sides of seam from base of hem to where the hole for the tab begins.<\/li>\n<li>Secure the thread at the bottom with several knots. Then gather fabric along the basting stitch by pulling on the threads to form the gentle folds of the turban. Secure the threads at the top with several knots.<\/li>\n<li>Take the 4\u2033 x 13\u2033 strip and stitch along the 13\u2033 side to create the tab.<\/li>\n<li>Turn the hat and tab right side out.<\/li>\n<li>Insert the tab through the opening, around the hem. Inside the turban, form tab to hold folds in place.
