A hot, dry summer can sometimes lead to a parched spirit. The Bible is full of reminders that God is present in times of drought and times of plenty. It is as good to pray for rain as it is to pray for the living water that Jesus spoke of.<\/p>\n
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
\nwhose trust is the Lord.
\nHe is like a tree planted by water,
\nthat sends out its roots by the stream,
\nand does not fear when heat comes,
\nfor its leaves remain green,
\nand is not anxious in the year of drought,
\nfor it does not cease to bear fruit. (Jeremiah 17:7-8)<\/p>\n
Shower, O heavens, from above,
\nand let the clouds rain down righteousness;
\nlet the earth open, that salvation and righteousness may bear fruit;
\nlet the earth cause them both to sprout;
\nI the Lord have created it. (Isaiah 45:8)<\/p>\n
He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs. (Psalm 107:35)<\/p>\n
For this is what the Lord says: \u201cYou will see neither wind nor rain, yet this valley will be filled with water, and you, your cattle and your other animals will drink.\u201d (2Kings 3:17)<\/p>\n
