Some people love mornings. Others are sane.<\/p>\n

Whether you\u2019re a morning person, a night owl or something in between, the best way to start your day is with prayer<\/a>, before noise, traffic and work do their worst to crowd out conversation with God.<\/p>\n

But it often seems next to impossible to focus our hearts and minds on prayer when we\u2019re still groggy and mostly inarticulate. That\u2019s okay, though, because the Bible answers our need with some of the finest \u201cmorning prayers\u201d we will ever pray. We just have to keep them handy so that we can call upon them we need them. So here is a listing of my 12 favorite morning prayers from the Bible:<\/p>\n

1) Psalm 5:2-3, NIV<\/strong>
\nHear my cry for help,
\n my King and my God,
\n for to you I pray.
\nIn the morning, Lord, you hear my voice;
\n in the morning I lay my requests before you
\n and wait expectantly.<\/p>\n

2) Psalm 19:14, ESV<\/strong>
\nLet the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.<\/p>\n

3) Psalm 25:5, NLT<\/strong>
\nLead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.<\/p>\n

4) Psalm 65:8, NIV<\/strong>
\nThe whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy.<\/p>\n

5) Psalm 84:10-11, NIV<\/strong>
\nBetter is one day in your courts
\n than a thousand elsewhere;
\nI would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
\n than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
\nFor the Lord God is a sun and shield;
\n the Lord bestows favor and honor;
\nno good thing does he withhold
\n from those whose walk is blameless.<\/p>\n

6) Psalm 90:14, NIV<\/strong>
\nSatisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.<\/p>\n

7) Psalm 118:24, CEV<\/strong>
\nThis day belongs to the Lord! Let’s celebrate and be glad today.<\/p>\n

8) Psalm 130:5-6, NIV<\/strong>
\nI wait for the Lord, my whole being waits,
\n and in his word I put my hope.
\nI wait for the Lord
\n more than watchmen wait for the morning,
\n more than watchmen wait for the morning.<\/p>\n

9) Psalm 143:8, NIV<\/strong>
\nLet the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
\n for I have put my trust in you.
\nShow me the way I should go,
\n for to you I entrust my life.<\/p>\n

10) Isaiah 33:2, NIV<\/strong>
\nLord, be gracious to us; we long for you. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress.<\/p>\n

11) Lamentations 3:22-23, NASB<\/strong>
\nThe Lord\u2019s loving kindnesses indeed never cease,
\nFor His compassions never fail.
\nThey are new every morning;
\nGreat is Your faithfulness.<\/p>\n

12) 2 Timothy 1:12, KJV<\/strong>
\nFor I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.<\/p>\n

You may want to print these out and pray one each morning. Or pray through them all on your drive to work. Or pick three of your favorites to commit to memory.
