Besides talking about their own prayer life, they offer 40 short prayers for 40 days. Here are just four of them. May they bring sustenance to your own prayer life as they did mine.<\/p>\n<p><em>1) May those I love know it unquestioningly<\/em>.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/gpbookstore.org\/articles\/positive-living\/friends-and-family\/family\/the-healing-power-of-unconditional-love\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">God loves us unconditionally.<\/a> Would that those we love know the same about us. I pray that my love is shown by my actions.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shopguideposts.org\/prayer-works.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>Read more of Rick\u2019s lifetime spiritual journey in his latest book, <\/em>Prayer Works<em>.<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>2) May I offer help more readily and joyfully than I offer critique.<\/em><br \/>\nA fellow church choir member said to me the other day, \u201cI\u2019ve decided that if I\u2019m not being paid to judge, I won\u2019t judge.\u201d And she\u2019s a courtroom judge by profession! Words of criticism rarely reach their intended goal. No wonder Jesus said, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/gpbookstore.org\/articles\/positive-living\/health-and-wellness\/life-advice\/how-to-stop-judging-and-start-loving\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Judge not<\/a> lest you be judged.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>3) May the fear of being afraid never keep me from facing the things I am afraid of. <\/em><br \/>\nFear can sneak up on you, sometimes in the most innocent of garb. A tiger disguised as a pussycat. To be afraid is perfectly natural. To <a href=\"https:\/\/gpbookstore.org\/articles\/positive-living\/health-and-wellness\/better-living\/emotional-and-mental-health\/face-your-fears-with-faith\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pray through the fear<\/a> is heroic. As the old saying goes, Courage is fear that has said its prayers.<\/p>\n<p><em>4) May I be surrounded by loved ones who remind me who I am when I forget. I will forget.<\/em><br \/>\nThe best mirror for ourselves is not a selfie taken on our phones. It\u2019s in the looks of love from <a href=\"https:\/\/gpbookstore.org\/articles\/inspiring-stories\/the-power-of-unconditional-love\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">those we love<\/a>. I would be nothing, a nobody, without my church, my friends, my family, my loved ones.
