We are always waiting for something:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our loved one to come home from deployment.\n\t <\/li>\n<li>Our loved one to leave on deployment.\n\t <\/li>\n<li>A promotion.\n\t <\/li>\n<li>A change of duty station.\n\t <\/li>\n<li>The next conflict requiring troop deployment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The list could go on and on and on.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shopguideposts.org\/microsite\/index\/load\/id\/35\/https:\/\/www.shopguideposts.org\/microsite\/index\/load\/id\/35\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Click here to donate and bring hope and inspiration to our Armed Forces<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>But there\u2019s one thing most of us are afraid to add to the list, even though it\u2019s ever present in our minds\u2014unanswered prayers.<\/p>\n<p>For those of us with military connections, prayer is a very real lifeline. It brings power to the powerless and peace to those who are overcome with fear.<\/p>\n<p>So what do we do with those seemingly unanswered prayers just hanging around?<\/p>\n<p><strong>1)  Remember that God\u2019s timing is perfect.<\/strong><br \/>\nHe\u2019s never late, never early, and will never abandon you or those you love. \u201cFor the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay.\u201d (Habakkuk 2:3)<\/p>\n<p><strong>2)  Go back to the last thing God said and start there.<\/strong><br \/>\nSo often I want to jump ahead to what I think God is going to do\u2014especially when my prayers go unanswered. Instead, in these instances, I\u2019ve learned to go back and stick close to His side. \u201cYour word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.\u201d (Psalm 119:105)<\/p>\n<p><strong>3)  Do the next thing.<\/strong><br \/>\nI\u2019ve found that when I look at the big picture\u2014especially if it\u2019s filled with confusion\u2014I get overwhelmed. The answer to this is to do the next thing, then the next, and so on. By the time I\u2019ve done several things, the answers I\u2019m seeking begin to appear. \u201cFor we walk by faith, not by sight.\u201d (2 Corinthians 5:7)<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s in these times that I\u2019ve found my faith grows the most.
