we ask ourselves questions<\/a>, we grow. We\u2019re not just spouting off answers someone else has given us. We own the answers.<\/p>\nHere are just five of Jesus\u2019 questions. Have fun with them. Savor them. Each one is worth praying through:<\/p>\n
1) \u201cWho do you say that I am?\u201d (Matthew 16:15)<\/strong>
\nJesus asked this of the disciples when they were repeating what other people were saying about Jesus\u2019 identity. So much for what other people think. What do you<\/em> think? That\u2019s what counts.<\/p>\n2) \u201cWhat do you want me to do for you?\u201d (Matthew 20:32)<\/strong>
\nTwo blind men were among a large crowd following Jesus, begging for mercy. Jesus doesn\u2019t heal them until they say exactly what they want. Prayer is a chance for us to articulate our needs. What do we<\/em> want?<\/p>\n3) \u201cWhy do you call me, \u2018Lord, Lord,\u2019 and do not do what I say?\u201d (Luke 6:46)<\/strong>
\nWhat we value most will be shown in our lives. We are an open book. It is impossible to say \u201cLord, Lord\u201d and truly mean it without following through.<\/p>\n4) \u201cWhen I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many basketfuls of pieces did you pick up?\u201d (Mark 8:19)<\/strong>
\nJesus has performed an astounding miracle. Have the disciples fully noticed? Have they taken stock? Have you taken stock of the miracles done in your life?<\/p>\n5) \u201cDo you love me?\u201d (John 21:17)<\/strong>
\nJesus asked Peter this question three times, and each time when the answer was yes the response was \u201cFeed my sheep.\u201d Talk is cheap. Love is everything.
